CAL inspires special "Dressed For Christmas" tree - On June 4th, long before the holiday season, a group from the Village At The Waterways were led in a tour of the gallery and each were given a handmade greeting card with an origami dress on the front of the card.  Who knew that Jamie Hatfield's creation would inspire an entire Christmas tree?  CAL received the above photo and this message "Earlier this year we came for a tour and art demonstration.  As we left we were given a cute little card with an origami dress on the cover.  We liked the dress so much we decided to learn to fold our own and then decided we should make lots to decorate one of our special trees.  I am attaching a picture of our "Dressed For Christmas" tree that the Conroe Art League inspired!"

We love providing these tours and are so pleased to have inspired this creative tree.  Anyone interested in scheduling a tour should contact Kerry Conkling at kerryart127@gmail.com.

December has been a good month for CAL members!

Carye Yount, with her Quill piece, and Zartasha Shah, with her photography, were juried into the final 13 of The Woodlands High School Art Trust.  The students will vote on their favorites pieces in January and the winning art will be purchased and made a part of TWHSAT Permanent Collection.

Brett Hall achieved Signature Member status with the International Society Of Acrylic Painters when his piece, Contentment, was accepted as a finalist in the 4th Annual All Members Show. Members must make it to finals in three ISAP shows to receive this designation.

    Congratulations all!

This beautiful 82’x82’ painting entitled “What goes on in my head” was donated to the Conroe Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, November 14th, by the Conroe Art League. The artist, Golda Rader, was on hand for the presentation. The original art was a 40x40 acrylic/ mixed media piece and was voted on as the favorite to be remade into a very large banner that hung in the Madeley Building courtyard. A perfect home was found for it at the CSO building.
