Help CAL provide a growing number of diverse programs, classes, exhibits, and workshops.
Make a donation to CAL and have the opportunity to win this beautiful framed photograph made and donated by Patti Gary. The Fantastic Ferns is a limited edition print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Metallic archival paper. The Fantastic Ferns portrays individual fern fronds as members of a harmonious ensemble, akin to a musical band. Illuminated with off-camera flashes, the composition reveals intricate textures and depth. The three-dimensional effect is achieved by combining multiple exposures and subtly elevating select fronds with putty, creating a dynamic and unified visual experience.
For each $10 donation one ticket will be entered into the raffle. Tickets may be purchased online or in the gallery at 127 Simonton Street, Conroe, where you can also see the item in person.
The winning ticket will be drawn on March 8th at the General Meeting. Congratulations to Aimee Montgomery who was the winner of the wooden vessel donated by David Bartell. This item brought in over $1300 in donations. Thank you David!

This year's 12 x 12 online auction began at 11am Monday, January 6, 2025, and will close at 7pm on Friday, January 31, 2025. In January the art will not only remain visible online but will be physically displayed in the gallery through Friday, January 31. All bidding and payment, however, will remain online.
MAJOR CHANGE IN THIS YEARS'S AUCTION: The "BUY NOW" feature has been discontinued. Bidding will continue until the auction ends. The highest bidder on any artwork, upon payment, receives the artwork. https://www.32auctions.com/CAL2025
|
A NEW EVENT IN 2025: BID BASH!
Join us in the gallery from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, January 31, when the auction will be featured live on the TV in the east gallery. Bring your mobile device, and you will be able to bid on your favorite pieces as you watch the bidding. If you are the highest bidder when the auction closes, you may pay and bring your newly purchased artwork home with you. Refreshments and appetizers will be served.
If you prefer to remain in the cozy confines of your home to bid, you're welcome to do so, of course. If you're the highest bidder at the close of the auction, you'll be notified and invoiced by 32Auctions. Once you pay, you may pick up your art in the gallery on Saturday, February 1, from 11am to 4pm Another exciting new addition to the 2025 auction will be the "Best Selling Artist" award given to the artist who's 12x12 brought in the largest donation.

Brett Hall Judges CISD Art Competition - There are many wonderful art organizations throughout our area and they support one another in their endeavors. Conroe ISD is one such example. Every year they mount an exhibit of western themed art created by students at all their schools, from kindergarten through senior high and put them on display at the Walter P. Jett Learning Center in Shenandoah. It draws hundreds of entries from their students at over 70 campuses. It takes a dozen judges over 4 hours to individually rate each piece and the winners are submitted to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. CAL member Brett Hall has been a judge for the last six years and looks forward to it each year. The show is open to parents and public the next day and the students beam with pride showing off their work. This is just one of the ways that art organizations work together to support the arts and one another.

|
|
|
|
The Greater Conroe Arts Festival will be here before you know it! Please Save the Date on your calendar for Saturday, March 29th, 2025 from 10:00-4:00 in Downtown Conroe! Please consider helping! Volunteers are needed in the many Community Outreach booths such as Face Painting, Artist in Action tent, Plein Air Painting, Kids Art Village, Art Booths, Raffle Tent, Photography, Art Auction, Hosting, and more!
Registration is open for Fine Art/Fine Craft Vendor, Vendor Market (includes businesses), Artist in Action, and Volunteers! (See link below to sign up.)
Note: Those who paint in the Artist in Action Tent or Plein Air can bring up to 5 paintings to sell in their painting area and hand out business cards and flyers. Fine Art Vendors who paint at their tent will receive $50 off their Vendor fee. Artist in Action contact information will be placed on the Greater Conroe Arts Alliance Website for a year and receive recognition on our social media. All paintings painted at the Festival must be finished by 1:30 and donated to the Festival Auction which is at 3:00 at Founders Stage. Painters may start the painting at home and finish it at the Festival. Many people have never seen artists paint live. It is a special and rare opportunity to see an artist at work and then have the opportunity to purchase the painting at the Festival Auction! (See the Artist in Action page on our website for more info)
Sponsor opportunities are available! Something NEW this year will be Festival Pole Banners that will hang downtown the Month of March! Pole Banner deadline is February 15th.
