CAL Craft Week will be November 14-18. Bring your friends and family to support our talented members and to check off items for that ever-growing holiday list. We are excited to see what you have been creating for the fundraiser. No need to wait till January to turn in your panels. If you have finished or are almost finished with your 12X12, feel free to bring it in.
Panels need to be registered on-line prior to January 2nd before dropping off. Panels that are completed early may be turned in to the Gallery Manager - but no wet work, please.

COURTYARD SCULPTURE PROGRAM |

Please be sure to register with Bob Heintzelman at showsandexhibits@conroeartleague.com prior to end of December. The sculptures on display are fused glass pieces by Michele Collins and a steel mobile by Bob Heintzelman.

ARTIST IN ACTION - IN GALLERY |
To participate, artists must be a CAL member and provide all their own supplies/equipment and clean up when finished. Artists are expected to be working on their art in the gallery from 5:00 to 7:00 and may bring samples of their art for sale. All sales go through the CAL system with 20% going to CAL.

ARTIST IN ACTION - IN PLEIN AIR |
|
|
This free event is a great opportunity to get outside of the studio and experience natural lighting and great company. You must be an adult member of CAL to attend. The monthly painting series will occur at numerous locations around Montgomery and adjacent counties. Artists that participate in 3 plein air events will be able to hang a piece of their plein air art on the feature wall of the Madeley Fine Art Gallery in February 2024. (No fee - 1 docent shift required)

December is both an open Member Show (register HERE) and the Christmas Is For Giving Show (register HERE). Take-in for both (including shelf art) will be Tuesday, December 5th from 11:00-4:00pm. Registration is due not later then Sunday, December 3rd at 6:00pm. Artists submitting to the Christmas Is For Giving Show have no fee to hang their art but will need to sign up for one docent shift for 3 pieces. All art in this show must be priced at $150 or less. All of our proceeds from the Christmas Is For Giving Show will be donated to the Student Awards in May 2024. |

Ken Roy's work, The Three Morrigna: Fate Foretold, has been selected for a November exhibition at Ardest Gallery entitled "SALUTE," an art show saluting veterans. The opening reception for this show is Saturday, November 11th, from 4-8 PM.
|
|
|
Bob Heintzelman's submission to The Woodlands Arts Council for bike racks was one of the designs selected. The sculpture is titled Faith, Hope, and Love. It was installed in early October, and the reveal ceremony was held on October 26. It is located in Hughes Landing outside the Starbucks.
|
|
|
"A Stroke of Magic: How Trauma Transformed My Truth" is a teaching memoir about Marilyn's life and thoughts regarding all of her life experiences that were changed after a life-threatening stroke in 2016. It will be published on December 1, 2023. Marilyn plans to have an online launch party on Sunday, December 3, at 3:00 p.m. More details to come.

Robin Pepper is displaying her encaustic "Be The Light" at Key West Jag Gallery. She has also joined the Exhibition Team and hung the November Show for us.

The Madeley Fine Art Gallery is a sponsor of the Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival held on April 12, 13 and 14, 2024. Having a presence at the festival will allow us to showcase details about what we have to offer the surrounding communities. We will be looking for volunteers to cover shifts working in the tent giving out information about CAL and the gallery. Those interested should contact the Gallery Manager. The Madeley Fine Art Gallery section of our website has been updated to focus on the original member art for sale. Check out the new look here.

A new benefit to our CAL members is the addition of Studio 127. Located on the second floor of the gallery, it will offer members the equipment and setup for photographing, or painting from life, still life arrangements. Studio 127 can be used by 2D and 3D artists that want to photograph their pieces. Reserve the studio for yourself, or for yourself and a member friend to work together. The Greater Conroe Arts Alliance will be hosting their 3rd Annual Greater Conroe Arts Festival on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 from 10:00-4:00 at Founders Park & Main Street in Downtown Conroe. There will be fine art vendors, live music, food trucks, a Kids Art Village, plus much more that is sure to entertain ALL ages!
