Participate, Share, and Celebrate the Arts

GALLERY HOURS

We are open Tuesday through Saturday

from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.

New docent shift times are 11:00 - 1:30 and 1:30 - 4:00.

The gallery will be open for Thirsty Thursday on March 24th with gallery staying open until 7:00.

COME ON OVER!

SOLD! TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER

The 2022 12X12 Show was a great success. The auction raised $9,345 or 125% of our goal of $7,500 with an unprecedented twenty-three pieces purchased as "buy it now".  The combined amount of raffle money and donations brings the total after expenses to about  $10,000We are happy and proud to be able to award the money raised to the Student Awards Show for Montgomery County High School Seniors scheduled for May 7th from 6:00-8:00PM.

Information about the Student Awards will go out to teachers and school counselors soon.

SPRING INTO SOME FUN

Join us for the first CAL Public Art Bike Ride on March 13th.  We will visit more than 20 works of public art along the beautiful Woodlands Waterway and Lake Woodlands. Enjoy commentary by Randall Cade and visit with other outdoor art enthusiast. More information here, and more dates in the works.

 

CONGRATS ON THE HORIZON

 

The winners of the USTMAX "Horizons" photography contest are: Dunes at Sunset by John Small, The Path by Kimberly Sutton and On the Trail by Carol Fox Henrichs.

There is a reception on April 7th at 5:30 at the USTMAX campus downtown Conroe and all are welcome to attend.

There will be no award for March. Voting will resume with the April show.

APRIL TAKE-IN/OUT

April Take-In/Out will be Tuesday, April 5th, from 11 am - 4 pm. 

Be sure to register online and sign up for your docent shift prior to dropping off your artwork (here). Registration is required online and not later than Monday evening, 8:00pm, April 4th.

MONTHLY GENERAL MEETING

The next general meeting will be held on

 Saturday, April 9th, at 4:00pm.

During the general meeting, Patti Gary, Chair of the Nominating Committee, will nominate candidates selected by the committee for the 2022-2024 board positions of President, Vice-President, Education, Secretary, Hospitality and Shows & Exhibitions.  Nominations will be taken from the floor as well. 

Student Raffle

Be sure to get your tickets for this month's raffle itemKimberly Sutton has donated one copy of her book “Lone Star Life: Images of Montgomery County”.

Support Montgomery County high school seniors and the student art awards by making a donation to participate in the drawing.

The April reception will be Saturday the 9th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

SPRING JUDGED SHOW 2022

 

Spring Judged Show is open on Cafe for  submissions through March 20th. Judge Doug Hiser's decisions will be announced on April 9 at the general meeting, and the  results will be posted on the CAL website.
