A NOTE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT
The CAL Board of Directors agreed to make some changes to the Artwork Rules for submission to the monthly shows.
One of the changes limits the maximum size of accepted 2 D work to 72” tall by 48” wide (Including frame). This change enables a large number of pieces to easily be arranged and displayed by the Gallery Team for each exhibition.
Artwork created with any assistance from Artificial Intelligence (AI) software or programs will not be accepted in the monthly show. Digital art, such as photography or original digital designs created by human authorship (as with Procreate) may be printed on a suitable substrate and meeting all other requirements, will be accepted.
Exhibiting original artwork created by CAL members is important to establishing the credibility of The Madeley Fine Art Gallery and the artistic development of our members.
These changes, along with other rules and requirements, can be found on the Conroe Art League website. Click on Menu, then About, then How to Show in the Gallery, and you will see the change highlighted. The changes are in place and will be applied at the September 5th take in at the Gallery. Please review the rules and if you have any questions or concerns, email gallerymanager@conroeartleague.com.
I hope you’re able to stay cool and creative. We have a great Fall schedule planned for all of our members.
Pam Markham

The Madeley Fine Art Gallery is going to be a sponsor of the Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival held on April 12, 13 and 14, 2024. Having a presence at the festival will allow us to showcase details about what we have to offer the surrounding communities. We will be looking for volunteers to cover shifts working in the tent giving out information about CAL and the gallery. Those interested should contact the Gallery Manager. Also, for members interested in applying to be artists at the festival, there is a workshop “How to Apply to The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival” on September 7, 2023 at 6:00pm at the TWAC Office.

The Conroe Art League now has a group on LinkedIn. Please visit and link up with us here. This site will be featuring a photo of each artist's work from each month's exhibit, (a different one every day) which will include the name of the piece, the artist's name and a link back to our website with info about the current exhibit. Be sure to use the group, not the business page for CAL on LinkedIn.

PANELS FIT FOR YOUR TALENTS
|
|
Every year CAL members donate their talent and time by creating a masterpiece on a 12” x 12” panel that is then auctioned to raise money for our Student Awards Show in May. In 2023, we raised $12,000 which was awarded to high school seniors in Montgomery County to help further their art education. Panels are available for pick up in the gallery during normal business hours and are due back not later than January 2nd, 2024. Panels that are completed early may be turned in to the Gallery Manager - but no wet work, please.
