What is Inktober?

Inktober was created in 2009 by Jake Parker, illustrator/animator, as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. Now, every October, artists all over the world take on this challenge and do one ink drawing every day of the month. If a drawing every day is too much, you can opt for one every other day. Your drawings can be traditional black and white or can include color. You can even combine ink with other mediums. Anything goes so let's have fun and draw!

Course Content

• Introduction of participants and Inktober guidelines
• Experimentation with tools, inking techniques, and styles
• Discussion of formats and ideas
• Preview of prompts and discussion regarding using them or not
• A look at Inktober entries from the past
• Preliminary sketching in pencil
