Learn about the properties of glass, how it is made, what happens to it at different temperatures in the kiln, and how to use that knowledge to create different visual effects. In this small class, you will receive lots of individual attention as you design and make two pieces to take home: a smooth full-fused piece and a textured tack-fused piece. All your glass and tools are supplied. Bring your own packed lunch and snacks and wear closed-in shoes.
The workshop will take place at Loraine's Celtic Creations Glass Studio

When Loraine moved to the U.S. from Scotland in 1997, she could not work, so she began to create with stained glass. By 2010, she was a U.S. citizen, the owner of a kiln, and a fused glass artist. She enjoys various forms of the medium, designing plates and bowls and creating landscapes and sgraffito (painting with glass powders on glass). With her sandblasting cabinet, she also personalizes wine bottles, as well as etching glasses and coasters with custom designs.
