Help CAL provide a growing number of diverse programs, classes, exhibits, and workshops.
Make a donation to CAL and have the opportunity to win this "Quilted vessel of possibilities #1", made and donated by Carol Roach.
This vessel comprised of low-fire red clay "Longhorn Red" built by slab method. The sculpture is hand-built, hand-carved, hand-stamped, and painted with ceramic glaze to create this quilt like vision. Melted glass appears on the inside of the pottery as a surprise of medium. Inspired by the quilts the Carol’s grandmother made as a child, this art piece embodies the spirit of putting pieces together to make a whole.
For each $10 donation one ticket will be entered into the raffle. Tickets may be purchased online or in the gallery at 127 Simonton Street, Conroe, where you can also see the item in person.
The winning ticket will be drawn on November 8th, at the Artist Reception. You do not have to be present to win.
I am a self taught artist who has been painting full time since 2008. Although my subject matter varies, my main aim is to create beautiful paintings that evoke an emotional response in the viewer so that they can make a connection with my work.
In this floral painting, I used a lot of palette knife and applied the paint thickly, not trying to make a very realistic painting but rather trying to create a loosely painted semi abstract still life with rich colors and textures."

Panel pick-up: Panels will be available during regular gallery hours. Just sign the register at the docent desk to check one out.

OCTOBER FEATURE WALL ARTIST
|
|
|
|
Brenda McDougall steps into the spotlight this October as our Feature Artist, bringing her bold, uplifting, and often witty perspective to the gallery walls.
Brenda’s work is as vibrant as her personality—bold strokes, uplifting energy, and the occasional wink of humor that makes viewers smile. Her art isn’t just something to look at, it’s something to feel. She believes the best reward is when someone not only admires her work but also experiences a spark of connection—because for Brenda, that’s what art is all about: creating joy, laughter, and a little bit of magic through color.
