The call for entry has been posted on CAFÉ and is now accepting applications. An email went out October 2nd to all our members. Please pass the word along.
The CAL National has grown into one of the premier shows in Texas in six very short years. Last year saw nearly 700 entries from 40 states. This year the 2021 CAL National is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts as a part of their Artistic Enrichment in American Communities (AEAC) program.

The results of the on-line voting on whether to open the gallery for receptions and a general meetings have been tallied
64 members have voted. Thank you to all who took the time to do so.
Ready to resume receptions? 69% of those members voted YES
When? 44% of those members voted November
Ready to resume general meetings? 61% of those members voted YES
When? 42% of those members voted November
Thus, we will plan to have both a reception and a general meeting in November provided that we are able to develop an effective plan to promote the safety of those attending. There will be capacity restrictions for each event in order to comply with safe distancing guidelines, and the feasibility of being able to accomplish that is being studied now.
Reminder: Our next general meeting to be held via Zoom Saturday, October 24th at 10:00 am *Nervous about being busy or looking like you just rolled out of bed? Feel free to turn off camera and listen in only. Most of our microphones are muted anyway ; )

PRIVATE GALLERY SHOWINGS AND FACETIME SHOPPING
Would you like to see the current exhibit in the gallery or do a bit of shopping without encountering large groups of people? CAL is offering private showings for small groups before or after regular open hours. The gallery will be sanitized before you arrive so your showing will be as safe as we know how to make it. If a private showing is still too risky for you, how about some FaceTime shopping? You can tell us what you are looking for and we can walk around and show you up close on your phone via FaceTime. Please email gallerymanager@conroeartleague.com to schedule a private showing or FaceTime shopping.

How Seven Artists Impacted A Community
Conroe Art League has caught the attention of Outdoor Painter, one of the national on-line magazines, by way of a letter to the editor that tells the story of "How 7 Artists Impacted A Community". Those 7 artists were the founding members of the C.A.L..

How C.A.L. Salutes our Veterans
CAL donated two banners that were previous winners of the contest to the Canon Recovery Center, a home for veterans suffering from PTSD. The banners are George Bramlett’s painting of a classic car, and Ed Gorman’s photograph of a historic building. Thank you to Debbie and Rusty McLoughlin for delivering the banners to the center.

Who wants to be a CAL Featured Artist? There is a new page on our website highlighting our artists that use the photo album feature for showing their art on-line. The general public will be able to see your art along with your bio and a description of each piece of art. There is a link they can use to message you directly about purchasing the piece. Purchases can be arranged directly between the member and the purchaser, or you can ask CAL to handle the transaction for you. If you want CAL to process the transaction, sales tax will be included and a 20% donation will go to CAL. If you handle the transaction directly with the purchaser, we suggest a donation to CAL for helping to make your art visible to the public. For an example of current Featured Artists, click here. If you need help setting up your albums, contact Martha at membership@conroeartleague.com. For help with a sales transaction contact Debra at gallerymanager@conroeartleague.com.
