Current Gallery Status

The gallery continues to be closed following the board's decision in March to do so because of COVID-19.  Our response though was not to sit idle but rather to improvise, adapt and overcome.  You've heard, I'm sure, the term "go virtual", and we went virtual in the way of improvising and adapting.  Ed Gorman with the assistance of Tom Fink and courtesy of The Woodlands Photography Club posted a virtual tour of the gallery on Glasstire/You Tube.  Stephanie Corral kept members and non-members alike engaged with Facebook and Instagram posts.  Stephanie has even conucted two Banner contests on Facebook.  A virtual show, in place of our regular monthly members' show, continues to be posted to the website.

Brett Hall, President, hosted the first ever virtual general meeting, and it was refreshing to see our members and friends again safe at home in living rooms, studios, dining rooms, and patios.  At the virtual general meeting, the results of the board elections were announced, and the transition to the new board has begun.

What does the immediate future look like for CAL?  We hope to open the gallery doors on June 2 for a monthly members' show.  Debra Riley, Vice President, is coordinating a task team composed of both current and new board members to establish a limited contact take-in and guidelines of how we return to a new "normal".  We want to comply with the governor's guidelines as those guidelines evolve, and go beyond that, if the team feels that it's warranted.

Be safe.  Be creative.
