No one is allowed in the judging area until 1:00pm

Cash awards or Gift Cards will be given to Best of Show, Best Floral, Best Landscape, Best Student.  Those amounts will be determined by the number of entries we have for the show.

Artists will not upload an image of their artwork, but artists must enter the details of their artwork on the LSAG website, and then pay the fees on our CAL website.

Here are the instructions for online data entry:

On your computer, go to

Enter your email address

Enter your password

Click Profile on the Left

Click View Artwork

Click Add New

Enter the Title of your piece.

Select the Category

Type in the MediumPrice and Year Created

(anything older than 2 years is not allowed)

Enter the approximate dimensions of the framed artwork.

Depth is either 1 inch or it’s something that must sit on a table, such as a sculpture.

Read the acknowledgement and click OK

Make sure you see note at top, “XXX has been added to the database”.

Under “Add this artwork to an upcoming show:”

Click the drop-down and select CAL Spring 2020 Judged Show

At the top of the screen is your confirmation that your piece is in our show.

Categories:

The following guidelines were written to assist artists in choosing an Art Category for their artwork:
Category A:  Oil/Acrylic – oil paintings and acrylic paintings applied like an oil painting
Category B:  Watercolor/Acrylic – watercolor paintings and acrylic paintings applied with water giving the appearance of a watercolor painting.
Category C:  Pastels – including pastels applied over a watercolor under painting.
Category D:  Drawing – including sumi-e and oriental brush painting
Category E:  Mixed Media – artwork displaying two or more types of media, including but not limited to collage, encaustic painting and other mixed media.
Category F:  Photography – digital or film photography minimally manipulated or altered using technology.
Category G:  Digital Art – all forms of digital art including photography that has been greatly manipulated or altered using technology.
Category H: Abstract/Experimental/Non-Objective 
Category I:  Sculpture – 3D forms in various media, including sculptures in relief.  Note:  If a clay sculpture has been bronzed since the local club award then the bronze sculpture is acceptable at convention.
Category J:  Studio Fine Crafts – original fine crafts created in a studio environment including glass blowing, stained glass, printmaking, pottery, porcelain, woodwork, jewelry, mosaic, weaving, fiber art, metal work and other fine hand crafted items.

Artist’s Divisions:

The following divisions are recognized by LSAG.

ADULTS OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE:

I-PROFESSIONAL:  Artist's Choice to move up

II-SEMI-PROFESSIONAL:  Artist's choice to move up

III-NON-PROFESSIONAL:  Artist's choice to move up

IV-ADULT STUDENT:  One who has painted, sculpted, etc., for less than three years (self-study) or under the direction of a teacher. The teacher may give any and all verbal assistance needed; however, the teacher MAY NOT PHYSICALLY WORK ON  the artwork to be entered in a show.After two (2) years of College Art (4 art courses) or three (3) years as an Adult Student, any LSAG member should be placed in the Non-Professional Division.

STUDENTS AGE 18 OR UNDER:

V-E:  Elementary (grades K-5)

V-M:  Middle School (grades 6-8)

VH:  High School (grades 9-12)
